When you actually start looking back through some of the more obscure bits of history, it really is astonishing how many things that we think of as fairly modern, have actually been around for thousands of years. The ancient Chinese, for instance, had a pretty good grasp on the workings of the cosmos, were able to do some remarkable things with gunpowder, and played Super Mario Brothers.

Orchestras are the coolest, man!
We’ve been periodically using the tag “AtomicToasters 8-Bit Philharmonic Orchestra for some time now, almost since the earliest days of the site. While the 8-bit aspect of it does tend to make for some fantastic music, as demonstrated all those years ago with the original Nintendo console, and the old Nokia ringtones, we’re thinking it’s time to upgrade.
