The British have a fascination with rail travel. You can get to nearly any part of the British Isles by rail. London’s Underground includes the oldest section of underground track in the world. Innovations on steam and Diesel engines have come at the hand of British railwaymen. One such innovation never made it past the proof of concept stage. This revolutionary “train” promised to provide a highspeed passenger link to all parts of England and to France.
