Comic author Rob Reid recently spoke at TED 2012 about how to properly interpret the entertainment industry’s estimated economic impact due to piracy. It boils down to this: ringtone theft is killing the economy, over 50 thousand jobs in unrelated industries have been lost to balance the math, and the average iPod is actually worth eight billion dollars. As all good TED talks should be, this one comes in a nice, easily digestible 5 minute serving. Video after the jump.
