Take a Little Trip

NASA wants us all to get out and see the worlds! And by way of encouragement, they have created some travel posters to showcase some of those worlds! (No word on how to actually get there, but I am sure PanAm is working something up.)

From the NASA JPL PlanetQuest site and courtesy NASA/JPL-Caltech, via Metafilter. At the NASA site, the original versions are available for download, and are gianormous, large enough to be printed at 27″x39″. And thanks to a liberal distribution policy, likely due to your tax dollars helping make it all possible (not just American taxes either!), you can make just such a poster! “[U]nless otherwise noted, images and video on JPL public web sites (public sites ending with a jpl.nasa.gov address) may be used for any purpose without prior permission”.

  • I heard Planet Claire has pink air and all the trees are red.

I love it when the webmaster of a site bears the title "curator". I need one of these badly, but can't decide which. Mrs. nanoop won't allow more than one…

    • I think they would only truly work as a triptych.

But what do I do if it turns out to be a series of a dozen or so? I'd need a longer house with fewer windows…

        • Nah, three is all you need to de-emphasize the specific content of each and establish the cohesiveness of their message as a series.

pretty epic. I'd love to make a t-shirt series out of these… or better yet: underwear!

…nothing says 'business time' like pulling off my skinny jeans to reveal an opportunity for supergravity adventures.

SpaceX did a similar set of posters and apparently others have gotten in on the act too. Galaxy Print has all sorts of stuff fairly cheap. https://www.etsy.com/shop/GalaxyPrint
