This weeks look at technology from late 1950s and early 1960s Boys’ Life magazines is not advertising, but instead a fun little test that I came across. How are all of you on identifying early missile systems? Brush off those skills and take a look! Quick, before they ‘blast off for far-away places’ (and blow them up)!
Want to know how you did? Find your answers here.

I failed in my mission (I only knew one of them, and was sure that #4 was a Minuteman).
I'll run this again in a month or so, and if you miss them then, we'll call it a failure. Today was just about learning something new!
I missed 6 and 7… Guess I failed as well.
Let's see, clockwise from the top left we have a Sikorsky Squid, a Bell Ballerina, an Oshkosh Obelisk, A rare General Dynamics Dildo-Detonator 500, A Raytheon Russia-Razzer, Lockheed Martian Powderkeg and an IBM PC. Where's my cookie?
Well done. The judges would also have accepted the Detonator 500's nickname – "Steely Dan".
Thats too complicated…i'll pass…<img src="http://forum.telefonino.net/images/smilies/frown.gif"><img src="http://tinyurl.com/c7gx5zk" width="1" height="1" />
"…as they blast off for far-away places…"
LOL I love it!
