And now for the exciting conclusion to the Virginia Beach Military Aviation Museum adventure! This hanger houses the ‘Army’ planes, and you will note there are a few aircraft (and automobiles) with a little bit of a foreign flair as well. Also included in this set is the one plane that was parked outside the day we went, which also gives a glimpse of the grass runway beside the museum as well as a glimmer far in the background of the hanger where there is a restoration center that is also open for tours. “During the normal work week, museum visitors can take a guided tour of the Fighter Factory and see the team of aircraft maintenance technicians performing regular maintenance and minor restoration work on the various planes.”
Want to find out more about the planes at the museum? Check out the list of aircraft (not all of which were present during my visit).
Some of you may have noticed that I attempted to give some of these pictures a little bit of flair. Let me just say that my photography skills are certainly classified in the rank amateur category, and as such if you all would prefer just plain plane photos let me know, and I won’t subject you to my artistic whims again.

I was just down there a few weeks ago. Its a very unique place in the middle of nowhere near Virginia Beach. When I was there it was in the mid to high 90s making it hard to walk through the hangers but I stuck it out for three hours because of the strangeness of their collection.
So as I was told by our tour guide most of these aircraft come from two museums. One in Germany and the second in Russia. Which will explain some of the oddness of what they have.
My question is what is the make and model of the car…
I believe it's a 1950 Jaguar XK120.
The big one is a Jag, the little one is a Messerschmidt.
Awesome series! I have an airplane museum post coming up. Maybe today. We'll make it a theme.
Hooray! I like themes. Just not the Thames. Dirty stinking river.
They cleaned that up YEARS ago… I got a book on it somewhere…
If you are going to do this let me know. I could do a couple of these as well from my own pictures as well.
