I think you meant to say "Cavalry leads the charge."

I think my favorite German name for a weapon is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nebelwerfer because you know … it Werfs Nebels.
I've had the English language version of this, "Halbritter's Arms Through the Ages" in my library for many, many years. Hilarious stuff…including the "Quack of Doom."
I saw a tv program a few years ago where they tested some of Halbritter's ideas. It turns out some of them would have worked pretty well – he described an early example of the landmine, for example, and if it had been built with that level of tech but with a bit of skill, it would have smoked viele bad guys.
I think I read somewhere the first "Land Mine" was an excavation – if you REALLY want to blow your enemy to bits, you sneak up as close as possible, then dig a hole right under em, pack it with explosives and light a really long fuse, giving you time to exit the tunnel.
Now I will have to read Halbritter's Arms.
