Weather.com changed it's terms of service today. Now they want your friends names, phone numbers, and email addresses, as well as family pictures in exchange for information about the weather. They call this "personal information". No thanks. I deleted their app.
This brings to mind an early childhood memory of a book that was around the house called "Our Friend The Atom" . Published in the 1950s, it was a Disney paean to atomic power, representing it as a magic genie who could grant all our wishes, though it did throw in the cautionary note about using the genie's power with wisdom or all the magic could be lost.
