Necessity is the Mother of Invention

At a weapon workshop in Misrata, a Libyan volunteer fixes a UB-32 rocket launcher pod, attached to the back of a pickup truck on May 28, 2011. The UB-32, a launcher designed to fire Russian S-5 rockets, is normally mounted on an aircraft. (Reuters/Zohra Bensemra)

In 1985, Doc Brown needed to travel in time. To do so, he invented a time machine based on a DeLorean DMC-12. Time travel, as the good doctor had found, required a lot of energy. Energy that was easily extracted from plutonium. Unlike the future, you can’t just go to any corner store and get plutonium. So, Doc Brown had to deal with the Libyans, which he wound up double crossing.

He’s lucky they didn’t come after him in this, or any of the other make-shift weapons Libyan rebels have invented or adapted in their current struggle (which you can see here).

Necessity may be the mother, but Baddassery is definitely the daughter (or son).

Wow, I blame Toyota. Again. Awesome pics of ingenuity and bravery – hope the poor bastards get their country sorted ASAP.
