Well I’m glad that’s over. No matter which side of the 49th parallel you live on, the beginning of July is about as healthy as New Year’s and St. Patrick’s Day. There can be no better way to celebrate a nation’s sovereignty than by ensuring that its breweries and distilleries stay in business. They say that necessity is the mother of invention. Perhaps then desperation is the mother of ingenuity. From snake oil to deep fried canaries, man has long attempted to best his brooding beerache with bits of boiled and battered bites to best the booming in the brain. However, if the Googles are to be believed, we’ve tried everything and nothing works. I’m sure the Atomic Toastalitarian Braintrust™ can do better.
What’s the best hangover cure?

Drink a glass of water for every glass of the strong stuff. Seriously. The best way to cure a hangover is to prevent it. Take the little Chaser pills if you need a reminder.
Deep-fried canaries? Well damn, I've never tried that! They sound delicious!
Now I know why Sylvester only chased Tweety….
Down 32 oz. of ice water with two multi-vitamins before you pass out… I mean… go to bed. It will hydrate you and replace the vitamins and nutrients that you have effectively washed out of your body while drinking. Of course, hair of the dog works great if you're out camping and don't have to make it in to work that day.
Hydration and exersize work for me.

But NEVER EVER this:

Did that ONCE. Wasn't even that hungover. Only time I have ever been sick and the word projectile was involved.
Water is a guaranteed cure-all.
Two Excedrin Migraines get me to the point where i can start drinking water if I forget that first rule.
Nothing else ever really works for me. Although it took years of drinking to really figure it out, if I chug a glass of water for every two drinks I can get really, really shitty without much of a hangover the next day.
Unholy disappearing comments today…
Yeah, plenty of water does the trick. However, a big bowl of menudo does the trick. We've known that in the Southwest for years. I don't know what it is about the stuff (basically tripe and hominy soup), but it works. Add some jalapeno for the extra sweat factor.
Being Irish has always done it for me. No matter how drunk I've managed to get, I've never had a real hangover. Practice makes perfect!
I didn't have a hangover until I drank some bad Newcastle Brown one night when I was 27. I got violently ill and ever since then I've had hangovers like everyone. It was kryptonite, I tell you!

I have ratties too and have always wanted to knit them sweaters. robot would look absolutely fetching in a baby blue number..
It was the hangovers that made me basically stop drinking altogether when I was still in my 20s. I must have a low tolerance because even a few beers would leave me trashed out the nest day. Wine and champagne were even worse. Ironically, hard liquor seemed to have the least aftereffects, but I just wasn't enjoying the buzz from alcohol anymore.
Moderation, food and plenty of activity while imbibing slows consumption and makes for a more entertaining day. This may sound boring to some but that's what we did on the 4th and it was the best one yet. In between beers we played a bunch of silly games (first one to consume a roll of foot by the foot using only your mouth, biggest bubble with two pieces of gum, first of two people duct-taped together at the wrist to eat a banana held in the taped hand). I was less buzzed and more entertained than my typical 4th affair.
If you don't stop drinking, you can't get a hangover. Duh……
