Tracking Atlantis

On Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 5:56 AM, the space shuttle Atlantis will have its first chance at landing. If this goes to plan, she will deorbit to Kennedy on her 200th orbit of our blue marble, cross over Central America and the Caribbean, then land at KSC. Sadly, that gives most of North America little chance of seeing her fly overhead in the dawn sky. However, we do have some Florida-based Toasters who may be interested in seeing the last of these magnificent machines streak overhead, capping 30 years of the space shuttle era.

You can go here to see the anticipated ground tracks for the Orbit 200 and Orbit 201 landings.
